Most Recently Onyx Arts was honored with the 2010 H.O.L.A. Award for Outstanding Set Design to Jason Sturm for “Confesion En El Barrio Chino” at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater in NY City.
In 2009 as Stage manager of the critically acclaimed show “The Domestic Crusaders” by Wajahat Ali, Pope Jackson met Set Designer Jason Sturm. As with all productions, deadlines were approaching and extra help was needed. Pope reached out to his childhood friend and carpenter Thomas Harrell for extra support. The result, an amazing set that caught the attention of many of the media outlets that covered the show. More importantly the Full Service Design Team “Onyx Arts” was born. Since then the team of Jason Sturm, Thomas Harrell & Pope Jackson has designed, built and installed Set, Lighting or Sound for Productions non-stop since beginning Onyx Arts.

Jason Sturm has designed Lighting and Scenery for hundreds if events for Broadway, regional Theatre, Opera, Ballet, Modern Dance, Rock-n-Roll, Corporate, etc. His designs have been well received on several continents! He lit the words largest sand-castle, received a 1998 ACE award for his set/lighting design for The Fanlights by Renne Marques, a 2006 HOLA award for best scenery for the premier of Lorca Federico Lorca. Most recently the 2010 HOLA award for Outstanding Set Design for Confesion En El Barrio Chino. Nominated for 2006 ACE award for lighting design for Blanco
