Peace Brothers and Sisters…
Hope all is well.
Just wanted to take the time out to drop the “willy bo-bo” on Lupe Fiasco’s latest project …..

Some may not overstand the all black packaging of this cd … yea that’s right yall ….
The album cover is pitch black with no title except a mandatory “parental advisory explicit content” label.
Even the booklet and cd holder inside …. I Love It!
All Black Everything. (check out Lupe’s “all black everything” song)
During a FUSE interview, Lupe told Ashanti that his fans should listen to Johnny Cash’s “The Man in Black” song to give further insight on the packaging for his cd.
He wore black on behalf of the poor and hungry, on behalf of “the prisoner who has long paid for his crime”, and on behalf of those who have been betrayed by age or drugs. ”And,” Cash added, “with the Vietnam War painful in my mind as it was in most other Americans’, I wore it ‘in mournin’ for the lives that could have been.’ … Apart from the Vietnam War being over, I don’t see much reason to change my position … The old are still neglected, the poor are still poor, the young are still dying before their time, and we’re not making many moves to make things right. There’s still plenty of darkness to carry off.” – (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Cash#.22The_Man_in_Black.22)
This album is completely for the elevation of mental consciousness.
Lupe exercises his first amendment rights as he spits bars of fire.
An album dedicated to social and personal awareness, there are few collaborations.
I’m very impressed and satisfied with the overall lyrical content and infectious rhythms of all 17 tracks …
Pete Rock’s “T.R.O.Y.” beat plays up the background on Around My Way (Freedom Aint Free) …. Fiasco gets up close and personally deep in the faces of all with the semantic wordplay of Bitch Bad …. while Audubon Ballroom spits fire at the soul ….
“Now I can’t pledge allegiance to your flag
Cause I can’t find no reconciliation with your past
When there was nothing equal for my people in your math
You forced us in the ghetto and then you took our dads
The belly of the beast, these streets are demons’ abs
I’m telling you that setup in them sit-ups is so sad
The system is a slab - Strange Fruition
Many eyebrows have been raised by this brother’s political views on voting and his latest comparison of President Obama to a terrorist.
To know Lupe Fiasco is to overstand and respect Lupe Fiasco.
The album is honest. Truth aint always pretty but it’s always welcomed.
People fear what they do not understand.
They fear for lack of knowledge. SEEK KNOWLEDGE.
We all do not have to agree or follow with the masses, especially when historical and spiritual facts and evidence take precedence.
Many are called. Few are chosen.
